Christmas 2008

Santa Claus? Nope. Grandma Kathy!!! She gave so many presents she was just like him!

Sleeping Beauty? Nope just Ashley playing her FAVORITE role!

We had a quick Christmas celebration before we headed out of town. We were so blessed to spend some time with our family and we received many wonderful, thoughtful gifts. We hope everyone had a very happy holiday!

Christmas at Great Grandma and Grandpa's. Colton was working on his biceps by doing push-ups with Great Grandpa. He's already obsessed with his muscles.

For some reason they both take their clothes off at great grandma and grandpa's house. Guess they really like to party there.

We also had a celebration with Grandma Kathy and Bompa Mike. They gave us the (drum roll please) BARBIE DREAM HOUSE and HOME DEPOT TOOL BENCH! We love these! Here is the assembly that daddy and Bompa loved!

Thank you for all of our wonderful presents! We love you!

Snow

We took advantage of the warm weather and snow to make our first snowman! So fun, the twins couldn't get enough of the snow... they even played tackle football with the big kids on the block when we were done. Gotta love CO.

Halloween/CSU Tailgate

The twins attended their first CSU tailgate party! They are now part of the tradition... they had an absolute blast and did amazingly well considering it was such a long day. We even got a stranger to do the worst breakdancing ever at our party. Unfortunately, the Rams lost in a 4th quarter heartbreaker to BYU- but they were looking pretty good.

The whole gang

Cory and Jen
Here come the Halloween Pics. We trick or treated our bummies off around our neighborhood, and then dropped the kids off at Grandma Kathy's for a sleepover while Tyler and I went to a costume party. We are exhausted after all of this to say the least.
Mychael (aka Nastia), me, and Jamie (aka Cruella)

Here we all are... Colton was Captain Hook and Ashley was a princess. They had so much fun getting candy, even got the hang of saying trick or treat. Ashley wanted daddy to "hold you" most of the way, and Colton needed a constant stream of candy to keep going. Two year olds are too much fun :)

Pumpkins!!!

I wish I could say we visited a giant pumpkin patch, however we really visited a pumpkin "pile". We went to the Denver Botanic Gardens Patch, and it was closed. But, we had gotten the kids hopes up for some pumpkins, so we went to a nearby patch that a local church put on. We had fun anyway.

Ashley and Colton with their own mini pumpkins.
That Grandma Kathy!
We are all looking... it's a miracle!
Ashley mostly wanted to ride on the pumpkin cart instead of searching for the perfect pumpkin.
Colton got right into the thick of it and examined each and every pumpkin before making his choice.
This one was a no go. Colton found some mud on it (which he called poop) and we were not to purchase this one. I love how he has absolutely no censorship. He yells poop! at the top of his lungs until I acknowledge the mud. Luckily there weren't too many people there :)

Hot Wheels and Halloween

We bought Colton a "fro" and Ashley a witch hat at the Halloween store last night. While I was getting my haircut, Tyler put their new Halloween stuff on and had them drive around the neighborhood in their new hot wheels. Colton loves to dance and bobble his head with the wig, it's hilarious. So cute..

Run The Rocks 5k... or ummmm 5 mile?

Today Tyler and I raced the Red Rocks Run The Rocks Charity Race for the American Lung Association. It was supposed to be a 5k, 1/2 down the mountain, and the other half back up the mountain to the stadium. However, the volunteers weren't paying attention at first, and so the first 30 runners or so ran a mile down in the wrong direction! Yup, that meant we had to run an extra mile UP. So, our little 5K turned into a 5 mile. Very painful when you've been running a 5k pace only to find out you have 2 miles to go. Guess the extra miles built our character, as well as the fog, sleet, and freezing cold weather. I'm pretty sure I had slight hypothermia when it was all said and done. Here we are prerace... no postrace pictures were taken. We were dead and freezing! Gotta love the Rockies :)

2!

The twins and I both had a birthday on October 5th. We celebrated our bummies (that's the new word in our house) off. We are so thankful to have so many family and friends to celebrate with. Here's our day:

Colton in the new playhouse with his "Spidey" hat. Little man :)
The slight blur is from Colton attempting to take the picture 1st. He smudged the lens! He was trying to escape to help work the "cheese camera." This is the story of my life. One kid escaping at all times, as I hang on to them for dear life and fingerprints all over everything!
One more.
Nemo! Ashley wanted princesses and Colton wanted SpiderMan, so we compromised for Nemo. Or, "Meno" as they call him.
Great Grandma Swanson- we love our princess tiara and copter.
Grandma Kathy and Bompa Mike gave them each a Power Wheels. So spoiled.
Cousin Kenzie helping them blow their candles out.
Cake with Daddy.

Chuck E Cheese. I Ashley was deep in thought here.
